In the garden with Phillip Adams (and pet rocks)

Nikos Kazantzakis at Ryoan-ji temple, by Daniel Keating
from Philosophy in the Garden, p.140
Three years ago broadcaster and author Phillip Adams was my guest on 'The Write Tools', talking about his dictaphone.

It was, as I expected, a charismatic and fascinating bit of memoir.

Last night I was Phillip's (perhaps less charismatic) guest on Late Night Live, talking about Philosophy in the Garden.

It was a rambling interview, thick with anecdote--less like a 'call and response' and more like a chat over coffee.

At one point, my portrayal of Nikos Kazantzakis at the Ryoan-ji temple rock garden became a celebration of pet rocks.

Good fun.

You can listen to the whole interview here.
