Small Wonders

Today, the cover story of the Age's A2 lift-out is by Ruth Quibell, sociologist and writer - and my beloved wife.

In 'Object Lessons', Ruth writes of her recent time in hospital, and the solace and suggestion of the objects brought to her: a stone, pine cone and delphiniums.

Evocative, honest, elegant writing - grab yourselves a copy of today's Age. For those interstate and overseas, it may be online by Monday.

I read the story this morning but had no idea this was 'your' Ruth. Sounds like it would have been a very traumatic time for your family. Really great writing.

Thanks, RD. Yes, the new year sucked for a while there. We're still recovering some equilibrium, I reckon.

But very happy to have found 'normal' again.
