My other little baby is going abroad. In May 2010, Distraction will be published in the UK and USA by Acumen. It will be part of their 'Art of Living' series, edited by public philosopher and author Mark Vernon.
So if you're in Europe or America, and you'd like a newly-jacketed, revised Distraction, try all good bookstores in Spring.

congratulations!I will look - though I have to say I love the oz cover. Just looking at it gives me that darting feeling...
Bravo! That's really big news. On your way to worldwide distraction...
Fantastic news! Hope it sells a squillion . . . or at least that every one who does buy it learns as much as I did.
Gone international, Damon. That's wonderful. Bravo.
Thank you, all. Yes, it's good news, and I'm looking forward to seeing the new cover - on far-away shelves.
I'm with Simmone re the cover - if it ain't broke... - congratulations though, it's a really great achievement and I hope it brings you much success and recognition, as well as giving lots to the readers!
Thanks, Rachel.
It's standard practice to give each new foreign edition a new cover. Sometimes they get it wrong, I'm sure. But on the whole, local designers know the local 'eye'.
As it happens, I love the new cover: smart, simple and playful.
Congratulations!
This sounded so appealing I decided to order it via Amazon. I love getting boxes delivered to my door. It makes the world more exciting.
Liosis - thank you.
But, but, but: you might want to wait until March! The US/UK/Canada Distraction is not on Amazon yet. (Wait until you can see the new cover.)
I hope they ship you the new one...
Damon,
Yes. I realized that as soon as I ordered and went 'drat!' But then I found out that Amazon is very nice indeed and let me cancel my order in exchange for advertising at me a bit more, which is nice. I guess I'll have to wait for march -sigh-
